The Micro: Bit recently launched in primary schools, aimed at ages 8-11 and is a brilliant way to help pupils understand how computers work and how to code.Â
The device can be coded using Microsoft's Make code which is very user friendly for beginner coders using a scratch-like drag and drop block interface, Scratch 3.0 or you may opt for script based code if you're working with older pupils.Â
Pupils will upload their programs to the Micro:Bit either using Bluetooth or a USB so iPads or laptops will be needed.Â
One of the reasons we're fans of Micro:Bit is the fantastic guidance, activities and lesson plans provided by the BBC.Â
